|
Dear MASH Wildcat Families,
I hope you had a great week!
As we move forward from spring recess and into the final months of the school year, we would like to share a brief preview of upcoming updates and events:
May/June Schedule & Keystones: Early next week, you will receive detailed information outlining key end-of-year dates, along with our Keystone Assessment schedule.
Attendance & Tardiness: We will also share a specific approach designed to help students understand the importance of being on time to class and what that looks like in practice, as part of our continued focus on maximizing instructional time.
Building Community: This work is part of our ongoing effort to model and strengthen a “community in action” across our school.
CREW Period (Next Week):
This will be our second-to-last CREW session of the school year.
Link CREW leaders will work with 9th grade students on leadership and mentorship activities.
Students in other grades will participate in activities centered on responsible decision-making.
Students in grades 11 and 12 will join the administrative team in the auditorium to hear from local law enforcement about making responsible choices as upcoming events approach, including Prom on April 18 and graduation for our seniors.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.
Sincerely, Joseph P. Reidy Principal, MASH

Mechanicsburg’s 2026 Prom will be held from 7-10pm at the Letort Community Center, which is part of the Carlisle Barracks campus. There are various gates to enter the barracks, but the address below will take you directly to the gate that is closest to the Letort Community Center. (Instructions are also printed on the back of each student’s prom ticket.)
Parents who are dropping off or picking up students attending the prom will need to provide their student’s name at the gate for permission to enter the barracks. After entering the gate, parents & student drivers should follow signs to the Letort Community Center. Parking will be clearly marked.
Location for Prom: Letort View Conference Center, Carlisle Barracks
Address of nearest gate: 870 Jim Thorpe Rd., Carlisle Barracks, PA, 17013 (Claremont Gate)
Helpful Reminders:
The Carlisle Barracks is a federal site, so any issues are immediately handled at the federal level, not by the state
Be careful to abide the speed limit within the Barracks, which is 20MPH at many points
Refreshments and appetizers will be provided at the Prom, but not a full meal
If your student is bringing an outside guest, they most complete the guest permission form, which is detailed in the section above. This completed form is due Monday, 4/13.

Junior Class Meeting April 9th Recap for Parents/Guardians |
This week, juniors attended a meeting focused on key information and next steps as they prepare for senior year.
Requirements for graduation were reviewed, including earning 26 credits, completing the graduation project, and meeting an Act 158 pathway. Students received a copy of their transcript and were reminded of the importance of finishing the year strong.
They were also informed that the weighted GPA currently listed on transcripts is inaccurate, and they should rely on their unweighted GPA until further notice. Counseling staff encouraged students to start thinking about their next steps, whether they have an interest in college, technical training, apprenticing, etc., but students were asked to wait until after August 18th to add colleges to their Xello accounts.
Students interested in visiting schools should complete an educational trip form with the main office, and students were encouraged to check their school email for guidance on how to request transcripts and complete the Junior Activities Survey.
Graduation Project Coordinator, Mr. Luttermoser, shared next year's graduation project presentation date, which is November 24th, along with reminders about available resources and support for project completion.
Students interested in senior internship or co-op experiences were encouraged to meet with Mr. L before the end of the school year to ensure participation. Questions can be directed to the MASH Counseling and/or Career Services Offices.

Seniors Interested in Community College |
We are holding a free HACC application day MASH next Friday morning, April 17th (Day 6, pd. 5) in the cafeteria at 8:30am. Whether a senior is looking to meet the Act 158/Keystone pathways or start their post high school training at an outstanding community college, this is a great opportunity.
Students will need to bring their chromebook fully charged and know their social security number if they have one (it is okay if the student does not have one at this stage). It's typically $35 to apply to HACC, so to apply for free is a bonus. This is a great opportunity and don't hesitate to reach out to your child's school counselor if you have any questions.
