Dear MASH Families,
As we move toward the end of January, we are well into Semester Two and learning across classrooms continues to gain momentum. Counselors are currently meeting with students in grades 9–11 to support course registration and planning for the year ahead.
Second Semester Back-to-School Night
We look forward to welcoming families on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. This evening is a great opportunity to connect with staff and learn more about Semester Two. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium Commons, several external partners will be available to share information for students preparing for grades 11 and 12. More information is included in this Newsletter.
Student Highlights
Be sure to check out the latest edition of The Torch, our student newspaper, included in today’s update.
Habits for Success – Responsibility
Our monthly focus at MASH is building habits of responsibility. Students are encouraged to manage their time, follow through on commitments, and plan ahead each day. Daily announcements include short tips and reflections, often shared by student leaders, to reinforce these important skills.
CREW Focus
We will hold a CREW session this week focused on reinforcing safety, including personal boundaries, respecting space, and the importance of “see something, say something.”
February CREW sessions will include Link Crew mentors working with 9th graders. Sophomores will review graduation project next steps. Juniors will meet with counselors in our auditorium for course selection follow-up. Seniors will hone in on a few different topics with their staff CREW advisors.
Winter Weather Reminder
With winter conditions impacting travel, we remind students to allow extra time when commuting. Drivers should slow down, walkers should watch for icy conditions, and student drivers should take extra precautions. We will communicate any schedule changes should inclement weather occur.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm and safe.
Sincerely,
Joe Reidy
Principal, MASH
