Dear MASH Families,
As we wrap up the week, I want to share a few updates and, most importantly, extend a sincere thank you to our families. We are concluding two weeks of major state testing for the Winter block. Your support in helping students arrive on time, well-rested, and prepared made a meaningful difference. The steps you take at home with your teenager - perhaps shaping their daily routines, encouraging effort, and reinforcing the importance of school - are essential to our success. Your partnership is so valuable, and we are truly grateful for it.
We are also settling into the first several days of Semester Two classes. While the start of the semester included some schedule adjustments due to testing, students have done an excellent job adapting, and instruction is now moving forward with focus and momentum.
Looking ahead, we are also preparing for course selection for the upcoming school year - 2026-2027, which will begin next week for students. If you are interested in learning more about our programs and offerings, you can view our course catalog here: https://www.mashcourseselection.org/.
Please see the information below about our second semester Back to School Night, scheduled for Wednesday, January 28th at 7pm. We look forward to connecting with parents and guardians that evening. We are also excited to host several external partners who will be available to support families of students heading into 11th and 12th grade. I have also included a newsletter link specific to the many different opportunities available to our students.
Our winter extracurricular activities and athletics are in full swing, adding to the vibrant life of our school community. As we approach Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I hope you and your family find time to reflect on the values of service, equity, and opportunity, and the important role education plays in shaping a more just future.
Thank you again for your continued trust and support, and for all you do each day to help your child be ready and prepared for school. We have amazing students at MASH.
Have a great weekend!
Joe Reidy, Principal - MASH
