 Week Thirty-One (3/30/26-4/03/26)

Dear MASH Wildcat Families,

I hope you had a nice week! Marking Period 4 began this past Thursday.  Teachers are currently preparing final grades for Marking Period 3, which will be posted in Sapphire on April 1 in the mid-afternoon.

Spring recess will begin on April 2, with classes resuming on Tuesday, April 7. We also look forward to several upcoming community events, including our Cultural Heritage Fair. In the weeks ahead, we will continue to share opportunities for students to get involved, build connections, and engage in the life of our school. In the April calendar below, you will see many community events taking place for students, such as our National Honor Society-sponsored Blood Drive, Junior class meeting covering senior year topics (e.g., Graduation Project, Act 158 Graduation Requirements, college and military pathways), Third in the Burg, CREW, Prom, and Cultural Heritage Day.

April Focus: “Community in Action” (R.O.A.R.)
Our April theme, Community in Action, reflects a core belief at MASH—that community is not just something we talk about, but something we actively build through our daily actions. This theme also aligns with our R.O.A.R. focus of Reinforcing Safety. We reinforce safety by honoring a community in action—when students participate with respect, show awareness of others, and take shared responsibility for the environment around them.

Through participation, respect, and presence, our students help create a school where everyone feels connected, supported, and safe. We encourage students to look out for one another, to lead with respect, and to recognize the impact their actions have on the broader community.

Junior/Senior Prom 2026 Information
Prom is one of our key spring events, and we are looking forward to celebrating with our students. Additional details regarding Prom, including logistics, expectations, and important dates, are shared below.

Student Communication & Rolling Slides
Students receive regular communication to stay informed about school activities and expectations. Prior to each month, we send a student email that includes their calendar of cycle days, key events, and a brief message. In addition, students can view ongoing announcements and opportunities by checking our rolling slides, which are shared in monthly communications and displayed on screens throughout the building.

Senior Families – Class of 2026
Families of seniors can expect a communication prior to April with important updates as we approach the end of the school year. The newsletter will reflect the most current information regarding end-of-year activities for seniors.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I hope you enjoy a restful and enjoyable weekend as we head towards the month of April.

Sincerely,
Joseph P. Reidy
Principal, MASH

MASH Speech and Debate Teams Compete at States

Nine MASH students attended the Pennsylvania High School Speech League (PHSSL) State Speech & Debate tournament on March 20-21 at Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg. Our nine were among 678 students from 72 schools around the state who participated in 20 different events at the competition. Senior Aiden Pinsker advanced to the semi-finals in Extemporaneous Speaking, placing him in the top 12 competitors out of 34 in the category. Other participants included senior Chelsea Guan and junior Ayten Eldib in Public Forum Debate; junior Allison Shute in Impromptu Speaking; sophomores Chloe Luft-Hoover and Kaylee Witters in Public Forum Debate; sophomores Emily Jogi and Jenny Zemane in News Broadcasting; and freshman Sanjith Ayela in Extemporaneous Debate. This wraps up a successful competition for the team, which is coached by MASH ELD teacher, Leigh Ann Chow.
