Thank you

The Shepherdstown staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the PTO and all the Shep families who generously donated to provide dinner during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we truly appreciate your support!

We had another busy and exciting week at Shepherdstown! Check out some of the highlights from around our school:

Monday, October 20 – We kicked off the week with our Fall Safety Mini Assemblies led by Officer Mark. Students learned about general school safety and how to respond safely when encountering a stranger.

Wednesday, October 22 – It was Unity Day, and Shepherdstown Wildcats showed up in orange! Our halls were filled with positivity and a strong message of kindness.

Thursday, October 23 – Miss Cerio’s class had a fantastic time at the Fall Festival at the Environmental Center! Check out the photos below.

From our Music Teacher, Miss O'Donnell

1st Grade –

Website for music resources

We are learning to match pitch and sing simple songs as a group and as solos. A solo is when one person sings (or plays an instrument) by themselves.

2nd Grade –

Website for music resources

We have started to learn rhythms – the long and short sounds in music. Rhythms are one of the building blocks of reading music. We also started learning to sing a round or canon - this means singing in different parts. The first part starts the song, and another part starts the same song a few beats later.

3rd Grade –

Website for music resources

We have been practicing singing in a round or canon – this is singing in different parts. The first part starts the song, and another part starts the same song a few beats later. We are continuing to prepare for the Veteran’s Day Community Meeting on Nov. 11th.

We have been practicing playing the steady beat with a variety of instruments – hand drum, woodblock, sandpaper blocks to name a few!
