A Look Back at Last Week

Thank you for your donations!

A huge thank you to all of our Shepherdstown families for your generosity during our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Thanks to your kindness, we collected over 300 food items to support local families in need.

Grief Awareness Day

On Thursday, November 20, Shep students and staff showed incredible support for Grief Awareness Day by wearing blue.

An update from our Phys Ed Teacher - Mr. Wharton

First grade students have been developing their underhand tossing skills through partner practice as well as a variety of individual and team-based activities, including Tic Toc, Step, and Rock.

Second grade students have been focusing on improving their overhand throwing skills by participating in a range of throwing games and skill-building challenges.

Third grade recently completed their skill-related fitness unit, concluding with an assessment of speed, agility, coordination, reaction time, and power. Following the Thanksgiving break, students will apply these skills in a series of team games and activities.

All grade levels celebrated the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday this week by participating in our annual “Stuff the Turkey” game.

Breakfast is FREE for all students and includes snack options like Goldfish, graham crackers, cheese sticks, Craisins, raisins, and fruit. Students just need to take one fruit to count as a breakfast and can pick up to five items total.

Encourage your student to grab breakfast—it’s a great way to have snacks for later!

Math Adds Up! Missing 18 days a year—just two each month—equals more than three weeks of lost instruction. Every day in class matters for learning, confidence, and connection. The days leading up to break are filled with projects, celebrations, and hands-on learning students won’t want to miss. Aim for fewer than nine absences this school year and celebrate progress as a family—because every day counts right up to winter break (and beyond)!
