1st Grade –

Trimester 2 ended in March. Our first-grade trimester goals were "Students practice identifying fast and slow tempos; explore healthy vocal ranges in relative terms; differentiate between long and short sounds; differentiate between listen and echo."

2nd Grade –

Second grade students have been learning to copy notation patterns. We've also learned what the different parts of rhythms look like. 

Trimester 2 ended in March. Our second-grade trimester goals were "Students practice reading duple rhythm patterns, including quarter, eighth and quarter rest; aurally decoding duple rhythm patterns; practice writing the stem, note head and beams of duple rhythms; practice singing in canon and with ostinato; identifying and practicing form."

3rd Grade –

Third grade has continued to practice their recorders and have learned more songs. We practice playing solo (when a person plays alone) and playing in an ensemble (when a group plays together). 

Trimester 2 ended in March. Our third-grade trimester goals were "Students begin basic recorder skills; experience and perform partner songs; improve singing voice independence; identify the difference between duple and triple; improve duple reading skills and introduce to triple reading skills."

Miss Cerio’s Class –

Families with a child who will be age 5 on or before September 1, 2026, are invited to register now for full-day kindergarten at Mechanicsburg Area School District. Registration is required to be completed before April 1, 2026, to participate in The Wildcat Expedition, our special kindergarten orientation held at Kindergarten Academy later in the month. This experience introduces families to Kindergarten Academy while incoming Wildcats enjoy age-appropriate activities and screenings.
