Wildcats Around the World on March 23rd is coming up quickly, and we couldn’t be more excited! Thanks to our amazing family volunteers, students at Shep will have the opportunity to “travel” to eight different countries and learn about their cultures, traditions, and languages. It’s sure to be a fun and educational adventure for all!

We will NOT be serving lunch on this day because we will use the entire gym and cafeteria for the event. Students must pack their lunch this day and will be eating in their classrooms.

Our Kids Heart Challenge has officially concluded, and the students had a wonderful time participating this year. We will review the results during the March community meeting, where students who completed Finn’s Mission will have the opportunity to pie Mr. Wharton, Mr. Echelmeier, or Mrs. Lawler. Thank you to all the families who helped make this event such a success.

This month, all grade levels will be learning how to use scooter boards through a variety of cooperative activities. Additionally, my student teacher, Mr. Castner, concluded his placement at Shepherdstown by organizing a Mario Kart–themed event for the students to enjoy.

Families with a child who will be age 5 on or before September 1, 2026, are invited to register now for full-day kindergarten at Mechanicsburg Area School District. Registration is required to be completed before April 1, 2026, to participate in The Wildcat Expedition, our special kindergarten orientation held at Kindergarten Academy later in the month. This experience introduces families to Kindergarten Academy while incoming Wildcats enjoy age-appropriate activities and screenings.
