At our February Community Meeting, we recognized students who earned Super Paws for demonstrating strong organization skills. We are proud of their hard work and responsibility! As we move into March, our focus shifts to collaboration, encouraging students to work together, share ideas, and support one another. |

The Mobile Dentist is Coming! |
Great news! Our school has collaborated with Smile Program Mobile Dentists to offer in-school dental care at on March 11, 2026.
This dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low cost self-pay option and grants are available. The in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed local professionals and fulfills the school dental health requirement.
Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.
Sign up your child today at www.myschooldentist.com.
Second grade families: Exams completed one year prior to the third grade year are acceptable. If you are headed to the dentist in the next few months, ask your dentist to fill out a form for your student and submit it to the school. |

Remote Learning Information |
We have already used our allotted traditional snow days this year. Any further snow days will follow our remote learning plan below. Shepherdstown Elementary Remote Learning Plan When anticipating a remote learning day, teachers will send home "required" activities with students. "Required" activities will be completed via pencil and paper. "Required" assignments will be labeled A, B, and C. A cover sheet will accompany assignments outlining directions for the designated day.
On the remote learning day, teachers will send out a message via Seesaw or email as soon as possible, but no later than 8:00 am, to set families up for success. The message will let you know which remote learning day assignments are required activities, as well as sharing the cycle day so that students can complete Fine and Applied Arts activities for remote learning days.
"Required" activities will follow designated time allotments per subject (Math, ELA, and Fine & Applied Arts) for each grade level. Grade 1 may be up to 15 minutes for required activities per subject Grade 2 may be up to 20 minutes for required activities per subject Grade 3 may be up to 30 minutes for required activities per subject Students and families have the opportunity to connect with teachers during designated times via Zoom in the morning and in the afternoon. Your child's teacher will share their Zoom times via Seesaw or email. Completion of “Required” activities will serve as student attendance for the day.
"Required" activities must be turned into the classroom teacher within 2 school days upon the return to school. For example, if we have a snow day on a Monday, the "required" activities would be due on Wednesday. |
